Dananai Morgan is a philanthropy and racial equity strategist that is deeply committed to the study of culture; innovation; and adult development. Having lived and worked in Africa, Europe, and the United States, she brings a cultural competence that is layered in her own intersectional identity as a Black, Muslim, cisgender immigrant woman. Since earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Capetown, and her law degree from the University of South Africa, Dananai has honed her knowledge of culture and adult development to transform organizations and cultures on equity issues; change management, and re-design.

Dananai Morgan has over two decades of experience in fundraising and philanthropy and currently serves as a philanthropic advisor to nonprofits, higher education, and cultural institutions. She has experience with institutional fundraising, principal gifts, complex assets, and planned giving. Her philosophy is that we are constantly evolving, and embracing change and adopting a learning mindset are critical to our sustainability.

Hukama was formed to focus on the intentional, developmental, and complex work that is associated with changing mindsets around equity and dismantling racism. Hukama defines equity as providing communities with what they need, because they deserve it.
